clickity claque

An SEO spam technique meant to railroad search engines into thinking that a web site is popular by artifically inflating apparent traffic to the site by repeatedly visiting one's own site with a search engine's search bar installed. Generally used by SEO-inept web marketers who are too lame to legitimately optimize their sites for search engines.

From the French, claque, meaning, "an organized group of supporters at a theatrical event who try to prompt positive audience response by clapping enthusiastically". Also a play on the traditional American English rendering of the sound made by a train traveling on a railroad, clickity-clack.
Some SEO spammers are such duh-weebs that after they get their sites banned from Google for keyword stuffing, doorway pages, and link farming, that they think they can still increase their PR, so they download Googlebar and play clickity claque.

Clipbait

Clipbait is similar to clickbait. However, instead of a misleading headline or title designed to bring in views or 'clicks', clipbaiting is taking a particular piece of footage or audio - a 'clip' - and removing it from the rest of the piece. This is done in such a way to remove it from the context of the full clip to alter the meaning of the original clip.

Note: Clipbait can be differentiated from (or, rather, include Quote Mining ) in that it can include both the usage of cherry-picked audio quotes OR wholly visual clips.
That news article of Fred Jones saying Coolsville sucks is total Clipbait, they just took that line out of context!

Saying that Han didn't shoot first is just Lucas putting in clipbait.

click bait

An online tool used to lure people into clicking on your website. It comes in a couple different forms:

One form of click bait is a thumbnail. Often these types of click bait will feature pictures of hot women or something else that can grab your attention

Another popular form is the caption of a thumbnail. These are used to build suspense and make you want to read the page. Some popular examples are "*politician* does *something newsworthy*", "you won't believe what *celebrity* did", and finally, "amazing trick to *do something hard*"

Click bait was very popular when youtube began, as many aspiring youtubers would utilize click bait to get people to click on their videos.

Click-bait

Click-bait is something that someone uses a thing that usually to get someone attention. After they clicked it's not what they wanted. Common on Youtube and ROBLOX. Click-bait titles most likely have a name like this: ''I ALMOST DIED'' or ''PRANKING IN THE HOOD (GONE WRONG)''. Those are things that never happen in the video. No one almost dies and no one pranks in the hood (usually actors). The other way people click-bait is when something happened in the video they make it look more dramatic on the thumbnail and the title. People also like to add sexual things to the thumbnail or title to grab peoples attention. For example: ''THE MOST HOTTEST GAME EVER'' It turns out to be some first-person shooter game. The other way people click-bait is they say a title but they don't finish it so you can get curious to click on the video. For example: ''WE NEED TO TELL YOU SOMETHING'' or ''WHO DID THIS TO ME?!''.
