WE CAN BREATHE

The collective exhalation of relief following the guilty verdicts in the trial of Derek Chauvin for the murder of George Floyd. Floyd's last words, I can't breathe, had become the mantra of injustice in a country where police killings of unarmed Black men are routine and have gone largely unpunished.

As the three verdicts were read - guilty - guilty - guilty - millions of Americans, across the spectrum of race, ethnicity and economic status, suddenly felt WE CAN BREATHE.

I can breef.

Any law abiding citizen that never had any encounters with the police. Those that do have an encounter with the police follow the orders of the officer and don't run their mouth or become combative. A term used to say that because you respect the law "I can breef."

Bobby was able to go home to his family after being pulled over for speeding because he respected and obeyed the officer. Bobby told his wife about it and then said "I can breef."

To be so drunk or intoxicated that you end up falling and/or sleeping in a garbage can thus becoming trash. An alternative to saying hammered or just trashed, it is a whole new level of trashed.

Also, can mean the same as being really drunk or trashed but it just so happens you woke up in a garbage can.

Dude, that party was crazy, I got garbage can trashed.

Oscar the Grouch was a mean drunk, he was always garbage can trashed.

She never made it home, heard she woke up garbage can trashed on green street.
