Black clothing is hard for the audience to see, allowing stagehands to move scenery while attention stays focused on the actors.

Often referring to a run through random scenery that is thought to be interesting to that runner when to third party perspective it is quite the opposite. Not to be mistaken with the connotation of the word "rave".
