Neutrothinking

A form of groupthink masquerading as impartiality, where a group (often in media, academia, or diplomacy) adopts a stance of enforced "neutrality" that systematically favors the status quo or a powerful party. The unspoken group norm is to avoid taking a "side" by treating unequal arguments as equally valid, thereby providing intellectual cover for injustice or false balance. Dissent is framed as "bias," while the group's own centrist bias remains invisible.
Example: A mainstream news panel on climate change features one climate scientist and one oil industry lobbyist. The editors believe this is "balanced." This Neutrothinking creates a false equivalence, privileging the lobbyist's funded talking points and misleading the public by framing a settled scientific issue as a he-said/she-said debate.

Neuropsychoreductionism

The grand unified theory of oversimplification. It asserts that every facet of the human condition can be fully explained by a simple, linear chain: brain chemistry causes psychological states, which determine behavior, which explains society. It’s a totalizing, biologically-deterministic cascade that dismisses any reverse influence (like how society shapes the brain) or emergent complexity.
Example: A pundit argues, "Poverty isn't systemic. fMRI scans show poor people have impaired prefrontal cortices, leading to bad decision-making, which causes their poverty." This neuropsychoreductionism uses a sciency-sounding causal chain to convert a social injustice into a personal, biological flaw, absolving systems of blame.

Neuroreductionism

The dogmatic insistence that all human experience—thought, emotion, consciousness, morality—is nothing but the firing of neurons and the flow of neurotransmitters. This ideology dismisses psychology, philosophy, culture, and subjective meaning as mere epiphenomena, claiming the brain scanner reveals the only true reality. It’s the belief that you are your connectome, and love is just oxytocin.
Example: After reading a profound novel, someone says, "Your feeling of awe is just a predictable neural reward pathway responding to pattern recognition. The book isn't meaningful; it's just efficiently stimulating your inferior frontal gyrus." This neuroreductionism flattens art, meaning, and humanity into a medical diagram.

Neurospermia

Neuro-spermia (noun)

A fictional condition in which prolonged sexual inactivity supposedly causes accumulation of sperms in the brain.

Subsequently causing a man’s judgment to become clouded by built-up sexual frustration, leading to impulsive, irrational, or overly horny decision-making. Considered the opposite of post-nut clarity.

Neuropsychonormativity Bias

A specialized form of normativity bias centered on neurological and psychological function—the assumption that one's own cognitive style, emotional range, and mental processing are "normal," and that anyone who differs is somehow deficient. Neuropsychonormativity Bias is what makes neurotypical people assume that autistic communication is "broken" rather than different, that introversion is "shyness" rather than a preference, that alternative cognitive styles are disorders rather than variations. It's the bias that pathologizes difference while treating the dominant mode as simply "how minds work." This bias is especially harmful to neurodivergent individuals, who are constantly measured against a standard that was never designed for them and told they're falling short.
Example: "She stimmed during meetings to focus. Her neurotypical colleagues saw it as 'weird,' 'distracting,' 'unprofessional.' Neuropsychonormativity Bias meant they never asked why she did it, never considered that her brain worked differently, never recognized that their standard of 'normal' was just one standard among many. She was the problem; they were just normal. The bias was invisible to them, which is how it hurt her."
