1. An unnecessary word for 'trend' or 'fad'.

2. A special word meaning 'trend' or 'fad' that occurs soley on the internet.

Fun facts:

Meme was a term coined by Richard Dawkins who, like his religious followers, thought he was coming up with something original when he came up with the word 'Meme', nor recognizing that there were already at least two words in the English language to describe this phenomena. (See above.)

Meme is now currently used almost esclusively within the confines of the second definition given here, to mean a trend or fad on the internet.
I don't think I need to provide examples. You wouldn't be here if you didn't know what a meme was.

And if you really don't know and you are reading this let me be the first to warn you: the internet is a horrible place and I encourage you in all sincerity not to use it for anything more than emails and whatever your work forces you to use it for.

Go live real life and enjoy. You don't want to meet the people on here the internet is a sad indictment on humanity.

A Meesher is a code word for an Indian (red dot, not feather); a synonym for meesher is FOB (fresh off the boat); this word has its origins in Montville NJ - made up by, surprise surprise, a couple of Indians.
I walked into a local seven eleven and there was a convention of meeshers behind the counter. I was in a club in the city, and they were clearly having a totally Meesh party - so the next indian song I heard mixed with a Jay Z beat - was a cue to my exit.

meme battle

An arguement where the two or more parties use memes to make their points. You can use memes you find on the internet but you cant ise your own memes for a meme battle. Obviously because if you use your own memes you can just keep making new ones to respond to everything with, and the battle will never end. You loose a meme battle if you fail to be able to respond or if your opponent is owning you with better memes than yours. Enjoy meme battling!
He was disqualified from the meme battle for using his own gay memes.
