Egnlish major

Derivatives: "Englsih major," ""enlish major," and the like.

n. An English major who unintentionally defies the stereotypes of the typical student in the program, typically enrolled due to a hyper fixation on a certain field of study, with disregard to, or lack of skills in other aspects of the major.

An English major may be an Egnlish major for a few examples:
1. They may enjoy reading and could read an entire piece of literature in one sitting, but may lack enough writing skills for you to question how they even got into college.
2. They have writing skills that combat the talent of Shakespeare, Austen, or Milton, but if you ask them to take the time to read just a single line of text from their work, you will give them an aneurysm as they hate reading.
3. They went into the English major as a result of being undecided but obligated to enroll in college, but somehow became the most successful and talented student in the English department.
