If it does not do so, throw it out of the window or put it in the trash. It is of no use. This word originated in the eastern United States, commonly used to refer to a "leash" for birds. Hence the "turkey" part. The cane, used as an instrument when the snoot is taken out, Is most commonly played at or around graveyards or houses surrounding graveyards to scare citizens.
