Pulling a Mondal

'Pulling a Mondal' refers to telling someone you will show up at an event and then you don't.

If you fail to show up, it means you just 'pulled a Mondal'.

E.g.

Greg - Dude, had a blast last nite at ma place!! Y didn't ya come?? Ya promised!!

Frank - Sry mate.....had work..

Greg - You 'pulling a mondal' on me?!!?

an australian tradition whereby the day after a rugby/rugby league last game of the season (usually monday) when players go out and get as drunk as possible.

On Sunday, after the broncos lost to the dragons to be knocked out of the finals, mad monday fever kicked in to drown their sorrows.

This is the name of a Starcraft 2 show by Day9. On mondays he asks users to submit replays where the players are constrained by particular rules to make the games more interesting. Funday Monday typically gains larger audiences than Day9's other shows.

Why is that guy massing queens? Must be funday monday.

mondegreen

A mondegreen (also sometimes spelled "mondagreen") is the accidental mishearing of a phrase in a poem, or song in such a way that it acquires a new, and usually humourous meaning.

In "The Death of Lady Mondegreen" from Harper's Magazine November 1954, the American writer Sylvia Wright coined it:

Ye Highlands and ye Lowlands,
Oh, where hae ye been?
They have slain the Earl of Murray,
And Lady Mondegreen.

actually, the line should have been:

And laid him on the green.
