To act as someone else in a, usually, ad-libbed play.

Often generalized into Fantasy-roleplaying and escapism. However, Civil War reenactments are often left out of this catagory, despite the obvious need for inclusion.

Laphamization

Giving a dramatic eyewitness report of an event that hasn't happened yet. Laphamizers get busted either when the event goes down differently than reported or the article goes to print before the event happens.
Named after notorious journalistic fabulist -- or talented psychic -- Louis Lapham.

Barbara Stewart's description of that seal hunt was graphic and bloody. Too bad the seal hunt was cancelled. That Laphamization ended her career.

A guy who embarrasses himself by wearing a cape or other costumes to school and using metaphoric language in an attempt to impress people.

Guy#1: "Oh great, "LARPing Leonard" decided to wear his cape again..."

Guy#2: "Why is he standing in the middle of the ring? and what is he screaming?"

LARPing Leonard "Do you want a Day of War, or A DAY OF RECKONING?!"

LARP

Short for Live Action Role Playing. Originally used to describe cosplayers who role-play as their character in a real life setting, the term can also be used to describe someone who takes on a fictional identity online. It’s roleplaying, but rather than roleplaying as a character in a fictional setting with other characters, you are roleplaying as a character in a real setting with real humans who assume you are also a real human, hence role-playing in real-time or “live action ”. The term originated on imageboards but has now become commonplace among communities with a high concentration of attention seeking children such as Discord and Instagram. Many larpers will catfish and some may even use voice changers in Discord Vc to more accurately portray their character. The vast majority of larpers take on ridiculous identities for the sake of trolling and angering the masses, while some others do it to garner attention and clout

LARPie

Pejorative term for a LARPer (Live Action Role Play) in which people (generally lacking in social skills and basic hygiene) can act out fastasy role-play scenarios generally consisting of running around in the woods or their parents' backyard.

They could be found early on in their lives playing D&D and Magic at the lunch table in school. Generally shy around normies. Most male LARPies have little to no contact with the opposite sex, or at least the normies of the opposite sex.

"I live in a world of cold steel, and dungeons, and mighty foes.."

"I live in a world of dungeons, too. The dungeon we're taking you to is called the Reno County Jail."

"I'm wearing boots of escaping!"
