Piggy= rationality, intelligence, civilization
Ralph= order, law, civilization
Simon= spirituality, wisdom
Roger= sadism, cruelty
Jack= savagery, pride, superstition, etc.
These are just to name a few.
Though the name Lord of the Flies is the name of Satan, in this book it can be interpreted as many different things. One of them being the sow's head, another (in Golding's view) is the darkness in man's heart (savagery).

Lord of the Flies was a boring book, but it had an interesting view on human nature.

Back to the Future

Movie trilogy begun in 1985 and completed late 80s. Starring Michael J Fox and Christopher Lloyd. The plot revolves around Marty McFly, an 80s teenager who just wants to play in a rock band and take his girlfriend Jennifer to the lake for some romance. One day his best friend, eccentric inventor Doc Brown, creates a time machine which is in the form of a DeLorean car fitted with a flux capacitor. Marty accidentally gets sent back from 1985 to 1955 and immediately prevents his parents from falling in love, thus erasing himself from existence. He also has just one chance to get back to his own time when lightning strikes the clocktower. Luckily he manage to get his mom and dad back together and get Back to the Future. As soon as he gets back, Doc turns up from the future telling him that something must be done about his kids. So off they go again (this time the DeLorean can fly) and get into a whole heap more trouble. It's a very funny and quintessentially 80s movie. Even the future is 80s. Its great.

1955 Doc: Marty, I'm sure in 1985 plutonium is available in every corner store... but in 1955 it's a little hard to come by!

1985 Doc: It was Libyan Terrorists. They wanted me to build them a bomb... so I took their plutonium and in return gave them a shoddy bomb casing filled with used pinball machine parts!

Marty McFly: This is heavy.

Doc: Great Scott!

An expression used to convey the utter hopelessness of a situation, given that everything has gone wrong with little or no chance of salvaging.

Biff: "Hey, Melvin - you know how you and your twin brother have been swapping girlfriends every other week?"
Melvin: "Hellz yeah...pretty sweet, huh?"
Biff: "Not really...someone spilled the beans, and now your girlfriends know."
Melvin: "OH NOES!! The s*** has hit the fan!!"

can't see the forest for the trees

It means that if you look at things one at a time, you might not realize that a branch of separate "trees" go togehter to make a "forest"

When you are too close to a situation you need to step back and get a little perspective. When you do you will notice there was a whole forest you couldn't see before because you were too close, and focusing on the trees.
Simply that you have focused on the many details and have failed to see the overall view, impression or key point.

Example "can't see the forest for the trees"

He is so caught up in her affectation that he " cant see the forest for the trees"

He is to busy on the outside looking in that he cant see the forest for the trees.

A famous Italian American pop band from the early 1960's to late 1970's. Two of the member are brothers. They are all from Newark New Jersey. Their music pleases the girls. Frankie Valli went solo in the late 1970's early 80's.

Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons are all playas. Their music is for them hoes in New York State.

Bone the Fish

A defining moment when you know that your favorite TV Show, Celebrity, Movie Series or Music Group has reached its peak and goes downhill. This term was coined as a dig on TV Guide when they bought the old jump the shark website, and destroyed it in February of 2009 so fans could no longer vote on shows that "Jumped the Shark". Jump the Shark Fans now refer to this corporate sell out in regards to that website "boning the fish" as well as replacing the old term "Jump the Shark" after a new website was created to celebrate the fans carrying the old JTS banner as "Bone the Fish" at www.bonethefish.com

Damn; when Idris Alba got killed on the "Wire", that show had a "Bone the Fish" moment!
