A Japanese phrase that shows up alot in animes and the subs say it means "thank you" but I don't understand how that works because it can't be defined anywhere else. Can also be replaced with "arigatou".

Kyousuke said "Sankyu" when Misaki gave him the sweater.

A combination of lanky and slimy. Used to describe people who are skinny and also possess slimy characteristics. Slimy characteristics include hitting on friend's sisters, mooching beer, and sleeping on bean-bag chairs.

Oddly this word has two meanings which are almost polar opposites: (i) An object, product or district which is undesirable because of its poor quality construction, poor stylistic taste, dilapidation etc. (ii) An object, product or district which is desirable and trendy, usually in an offbeat or gimmicky way.

I hate this restaurant. The paint is peeling and the chairs are broken. It's so spanky.
