metaphor

A poetic device used to draw comparison, or illustrate a parallel relationship between two different subjects. More or less the same as a simile, except omitting the word "like;" as in the following example- METAPHOR- Life is a box of chocolates./SIMILE- Life is like a box of chocolates. Confusion over these two techniques has resulted in untold disasters throughout the history of language.

The guy in the cowboy hat said, "Life is a metaphor for itself," but he's bi-polar and thinks he's Jesus, so don't pay no attention to him.

metasapien

As the name suggests, a metasapien (part of the metatroll family) is anyone who considers themselves to be better than the rest of us.

In reality, anyone naming themself as a metasapien will have incredibly high levels of arrogance coupled with a *fundamentalist* desire to show that they alone are right.

They are never right.

Metasapiens are frequently deleted from web based forums for their abusive behaviour towards anyone who dares to disagree with their highly select point of view.

Metasapien: I am right and what I say goes. DOn't you dare disagree!

metamour

Used in polyamorous contexts, a person's lover's other lover. A partner's partner, the person your sweetie is banging, etc. Unlike mistress or paramour, "metamore" connotes that neither relationship is clandestine.

There was a lot of tension in my relationship with Joe, so I had dinner and talked through it with a metamour, Casey. They were able to bring a lot of perspective, and things with Joe really smoothed out. The next week we made an Eiffel Tower.

Now that I'm dating Ludacris, I have metamours in every area code.

black metal whore

Its a girl, who wears black metal shirts at shows, cuts up the shirt to make it look like a "girlie top", and doesn't even know who the band is. NEVER shows her support at shows cause she NEVER buys merchandise at the booths. Spends most of her time walking around the club getting drunk and trying to get guys to buy her more drinks,instead of watching the bands play.When she's around other females, she begins to hate, so she gets louder to draw as much attention to herself. She then pulls out her camera and begins taking numerous pictures of bands shes never heard of. She does this,just to load pictures of herself on her myspace,so she can seem as though she is part of the scene. She bangs her head and screams to a band who she doen't know who is playing.This is more of a club life,dress to impress, weekend warrior. NOT a women of metal.

black metal whore: "I love this band, I saw them years ago".
Goat: "Really, this is actually their first appearance, they don't play live".
black metal whore: "oh, umm, Im getting them confused with this other band I saw", "Are you in a band?"

Metal

Movement of music that started essentially with the heavy rock movements of such bands as but not limited to: The Cream, The Spiders, Iron Butterfly, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Led Zepplin, and Kiss. The sound took a larger heavier sound with bands like Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Pentagram, AC/DC and such bands. But Black Sabbath was the most respected and possibly the darkest of the lot. This is considered the Classical Metal era between the mid sixties to the late seventies. From there on out, when the eighties rolled around, Speed metal became popular with the NWOBHM movement, and thrash metal evolved with such bands as Metallica, Exodus, Primus, Trauma, Megadeth, Testament et cetera. During the 80s a more underground movement of slow metal began to evolve called Doom Metal by such bands as Candlemass, Pentagram and the like. Also in the mid 80s a new form of metal evolved from thrash called Death Metal, and used screams, and heavy notes, and shortly after a new style formed yet again from death metal called grind metal or grindcore. The 90's rolled around, and Groove Metal began evolving with such bands as Pantera, and even Ozzy with his new guitarist took upon himself a slower style more groove/doom based rather than thrash. Then around the late 90s the groove and doom metal scene flourished and produced such bands as crowbar, down, and black label society. Also around the 90s a new form of Metal formed, New Metal. It comprised of such bands as Korn, Slipknot, System of a Down, Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Manson, Sevendust, and Godsmack. This style focuses on dissonance for heaviness and loud vocals, probably inspired by the death/noisecore of the late 80's movement.
