an adjective describing a quality equally comprised of intellectual and incestuous tendencies, such as the arrogantly navel-gazing and self-perpetuating cycles of academic publishing.

Intellitardation

A medical condition, or syndrome comprised of the triad of extremely high IQ, inversely proportional level of common sense, and social/emotional developmental delay.

Most commonly seen in University inbreds (those who attend a University for college, graduate school, and eventually join the faculty, becoming tenured, staying at the University until found dead sitting behind their office desks, or until an untimely demise in a horrific research laboratory accident.) University inbreeding can continue through multiple generations of Intellitards, ultimately producing the Dr. Intellitard Children's Research Hospital of (insert University here).
Dr. Harvard lives in his mother's basement, enjoys gaming, and not dating. He suffers from Intellitardation.

intellectual instinct

1. A phrase describing the act of habitually reserving judgment regarding people, places, and/or situations;

2. Avoiding forming opinions and conclusions which one is not required or beholden to form.

Intelotocracy

A counsel of the wisest individuals rule the state and where those chosen to be on the counsel are elected by duel vote to rule by the acclaimed scientists of the state and by the other members of the counsel. In other words this would be a kind of academic meritocracy wherein all citizens will be naturally driven to seek an education principally in science or engineering.
A community of scientists seceded from the world to create their own utopia for knowledge, forming an intelotocracy.
