/trout 'CHāsər/ idiom: a cishet man who strategically associates himself with an AMAB trans femme or virtue signals by using trans inclusionary discourse to be deemed safe and hence, access socially-progressive cis women's bodies for sex.

This neologism is a portmanteau of the idiomatic terms clout chaser (informal) and tranny chaser (offensive), while the
noun trout is one of many synonyms of the word fish, a slang term used among trans women to compliment each other.

Trout chasers for the most part have no desire to be involved with trans women romantically. Instead, they use, gaslight, and lead trans women on to boost their own ego and to be in cis and non-binary AFABs good graces, all at once. Cunning.
