A person or thing who thinks he is brighter than he is. Or, one who would like to be brighter than he is. Flat Champagne.

The Vice-President of the Condo is a dim bulb. We call him Dimmy. The only Champagne he drinks is flat like a dim bulb.

dim sum chinese 

Term used to describe yourself if your proficiency in chinese is only conversational as opposed to fluent.

Dim sum refers to chinese brunch and therefore dim sum chinese means one can only speak chinese well enough to make it through an afternoon eating dim sum with fluent chinese speaking family members.

Someone who can only speak dim sum chinese most likely cannot understand most of chinese radio, tv shows or songs.

Very common amongst ABC's (american born chinese)

Hey, I'm kind of nervous about you meeting my parents tomorrow. I feel like they would disapprove of me dating someone who can only speak dim sum chinese.

dim-wit 

Someone who tries to create an urban dictionary definition "naming non-celebrities". These people generally have low IQ's and are narcissistic.

I just voted down definition submissions from dozens of dim-wit's today. I'm not sure how there can be so many stupid people out there!

Dim Sum Volume

The volume and loudness level of the surrounding environment in a public setting such as a restaurant. Usually result in irritation after a prolonged attempt to engage in any conversation over a very loud environment.

At the Dim Sum restaurant, it is so crowded and loud in there one cannot hear what their own table is trying to say when engaged in a conversation.

"What did you say? I can't hear you, it's like DIM SUM Volume up in this place"

"it's too quiet here, feels like everyone is eavesdropping into our conversation, let's go somewhere with Dim Sum volume"
