At one time it was argued that this is data collection rather than 'mining' per se but the term appears to have become accepted terminology in online poker circles.

Most pedifiles engage in smut mining. The can be found useing MIRC because they think they cant be traced as they trade in their illegal pictures of usually french kiddy porn.
