Mephistopheles

A name for a demon of devil associated in the Faust legend.

By the 17th century, the name had begun to lead an existence independent of the Faust legend.

Now it is just another word smart people can call people they don't like. Since is it fairly unknown, it's handy because people won't argue with you for fear of looking stupid by asking what it means.

"President Bush... jeez, what an evil mephistopheles."

Regular Sentence: Look at that shiny red bike!

Sentence using Mephemisms: Take a gander at that bike possessing the same hue as the vascular juices spewing forth from my pupils, ruptured and bleeding from exposure to its obnoxious sheen!

A mistake that isn't really that important and no attempt is made to correct it due to the lack of importance/consequence. May also be uncorrected due to laziness.

A portmanteau of 'meh' and 'mistake'.
