Phrase used to simply describe something mind-blowing or deeply philosophical in nature. Often said when too lazy to reply in an equally sophisticated or intellectual manner.

Girl: "Have you ever thought that perhaps the Universe created intellectual beings so it is able to understand itself?"

Guy: "I can't say that I have."

Girl: "It's quite mind-bending."

Guy: "Shit's deep."

A great british classic rock band from the 1970's. Their music consists of heavier, more raw songs that are the basis of heavy metal, together with intricate, longer and more progressive songs. For example: The song April, about nine minutes of it is a Baroque melody played on keyboard and guitar.
Greatest songs: April, Child in Time, Black Night, Smoke on the Water, Lazy.

Deep Purple is a great band.

A more "gangster-oriented" term which suggests that a group of people (clique) are together in a certain environment, mainly a car. The number can vary depending on how many people there are in a given area.

Those niggas were riding 4 deep in the '69 Camaro.
My homie is having a party. They are 20 deep in the hotel.
