A microscopic insect commonly found in grass, especially during the warmest parts of the year.
(Makes small bites near tight spots on clothing such as elastic portions of socks, which often don't appear for several hours)

Unlike most people seem to believe, chiggers are not bugs that suck your blood. They inject a chemical enzyme that dissolves your flesh, then they drink it. They're commonly found in Spanish Moss, and also known as 'red bugs'

A common misconception is the idea that they crawl under your skin and lay eggs as well.

Person A: Aww man, I just got a chigger bite!

Person B: Lol, nah man, it drank your flesh. That's metal af.

Person A: ...dude that's disgusting.
