the angel complex is when someone is attracted to someone and builds up an idealistic version of them in their head. they start dating them and hold them to these high standards that the person was never meant to live up to. it causes disappointment in the person who holds the angel complex because they are frustrated that their s/o is not who they thought they were. yet, they may not realize it because they still believe them to be the ideal person they have in their mind.

When a person is stuck in a situation that appears to be so perfect or accomplished. Though in reality it is hell for the person to be in. They are miserable in that situation, but they have no way of escape because on paper and to others it seem to be the ultimate status to reach.

Many famous people are stuck in an angel-pit.
