Even though I have strong reservations about censorship, my intellectual dissonance compelled me to delve into its implications on freedom of expression.

Intellectual Masochist

Intellectual masochist: is someone who seeks out mentally painful or exhausting scenarios - complex problems with no good solutions, philosophical paradoxes, depressing truths, cognitive dissonance - and engages with them voluntarily and even finds some satisfaction in the struggle itself. Like, most people avoid thinking about "will the AI revolution lead to my genocide faster or slower" because it's fucking depressing and paralyzing.

An intellectual masochist goes "hmm, let me really dig into this, map out all the scenarios, test the AI systems, have the hard conversations" - not because it feels good, but because wrestling with hard truths is preferable to comfortable ignorance.

Sentence: As an intellectual masochist, she found herself compulsively drawn to the bleakest climate change models, preferring the grim satisfaction of understanding the full scope of the catastrophe to the uneasy comfort of willful ignorance.

Incel

Incels is an abbreviation for "involuntarily celibate." It is a term used to define men who lack physical looks or confidence to get into a relationship, and therefore lash out at the world. Several of them have resorted to violence due to this mentality, such as the Isla Vista shootings of 2014, or the Toronto van attack of 2018.

Young men online fall into the incel category for a number of reasons, such as race/ethnicity, height, facial structure, or a lack of confidence.

Abbreviated term for the compound 'Involuntary Celibate'. In Darwinian terms a person deemed 'least fit to reproduce', manifested in social terms as someone unable to copulate due to the absence of even a single willing partner. More typically male than female. Hangs around on internet forums generally blaming females for this undesirable condition. Unable to compete on the level playing field of sexual equality can be seen clamouring for a return to the middle ages where all that was needed to nab a woman was two cows and a quarter acre. Could be considered a 'Darwinian loser' whose gene pool is facing extinction unless they address negative personality traits and/or get into physical condition necessary for attraction to opposite sex.
