Took a dixie

Meaning, a lapse, cognitive dissidence, a boycott, negligence, a vacation/holiday, a siesta, laziness, idleness. Can imply both a purposeful or unintentional commission or omission.
I heard Chris Matthews on MSNBC use this term on February 25, 2009. I don't have a quote but he used it in this fashion:
"They took a dixie on that one."

Another example:
"They did a good job on the paint but took a dixie on the suspension."

took a walk

What teenagers, particularly highschoolers say when they cut class to hookup with someone in some remote location in the school such as under the stairs. When asked by a friend why it took them 20 minutes to use the bathroom during algebra they reply saying that so and so and them "took a walk". Taking a walk means wandering the halls with someone of the opposite sex, and at some point fucking around with that person before returning to wherever you're supposed to be.
Melanie: Uhh Karen where the fuck have you been I've been sitting by myself for a half hour waiting for you to get back from the bathroom...

Karen: Ohh haha sorry girl I took a walk with Garrett ;p
