Boardwell

- The last name of a family of pretentious, honorable, out spoken, well mannered, insane, fertile, attractive, rowdy, talented and self deprecating Christians who just might take over the world for the better.

Who spread thought and marvel and music wherever they go.

- Unrelated to the present day Boardwells of Great Britain; these Boardwells are rooted in the Midwest of America, from Canadian immigrants originating in the north west of Europe.

- The name comes from an Anglicized version of an Irish pronunciation of the French city 'Bordeaux' (bor-DOE). Carried to ancient Ireland by French monks who planted a monastery (of the same name) in County Laois, Ireland (now called the Bordwell Parish). Many people and places from the location were named after the monastery and so it spread.
- The legacy of the Boardwells is seen in honest trades, missionaries and ministers, musicians, caretakers, cinematographers, chefs, artists, linguists, mothers, poets, mathematicians, scientists, fathers, philosophers, authors, soldiers, teachers, historians, electricians, mechanics, carpenters, contractors and the like - spread from the west coast to the east coast of America and even back to the Emerald Isle, Ireland itself.
