Named after the Polaris Star in 1959, Chrysler Corporation produced a top of the line car in 1960 called a Polara and was manufactured under the Dodge name. It was produced in hopes of greater sells after NASA gained interest in the great race to build a rocket to get to the moon. The name carried on well into the 1970's before it faded out. The Polara once was the top of the line Mopar and was top of the line until Chrysler reviled the Monaco which had the same body shape and style, but had more luxurious features.

Would you look at that... It's a Dodge Polara, you don't have to be rich to own one, but you will definitely feel like a star...
