summer movie fatigue

This is the fatigue that sets in during the summer blockbuster season. It usually happens about the middle of July when the majority of the high-end summer movies have premiered and have been in the theaters for over a month, some since May. This time period is when theaters are nearly empty.

I saw Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and had the theater to myself. It was a case of summer movie fatigue.

When two people find company in each other even though they both have significant others. However, both of their significant others are out of town and this ends up in a secret relationship. Similar to a summer romance, but with more complications.

Joe: My girlfriend is out of town, so wanna be my summer rejoice?

Sarah: I'm so glad you asked, my boyfriend just left for vacation yesterday!

summer hand

after coming back from a long trip, or summer vacation for students, and your handwriting is absolutely horrible. It takes around a week to get rid of summer hand.

Teacher: Jimmy, what the hell is this.
Jimmy: It's my essay, Mrs. Shliken
Teacher: This is ridiculous, I can't even read it.
Jimmy: Well i'm sorry Mrs. Shliken, I'm suffering from severe summer hand. I havn't written a word all summer!

summer swirler

A fine cocktail crafted from 1 part fla-vor-ice pop, 1 part vodka. Cut up the popsicle into little pieces, then pour over your favorite vodka. You'll need to swirl it around for about 15 seconds before it tastes good - hence the name!

summer English homework

The epitome of uselessness in which English teachers are pressured by their social studies, science or math counterparts to hand out some form of quantified work over the summer, usually in the form of drawing, or as they put it, "visual response." It typically does not require reading the actual book but spending a few minutes glancing over Sparknotes or Shmoop may turn out to work to the student's benefit. Despite the uselessness and the lack of effort that it requires (or generates from students, for that matter), English teachers tend to grade rather harshly and criticize a student's artistic capabilities to send the message to future students that summer English homework should emulate the quality of works by Monet, Gogh, or da Vinci.

I usually put off my summer English homework to the last day because it takes less than an hour to finish it.
