This happens while talking to a person with a lisp. You dont actually hear most of what they say all you can think about is saying the word(s) correctly.

v. The most torturous of things a person must ever go through. Listening to somebody speak with a lisp. It is most effective when said lisper must read aloud.
Even worse when they have a horrible southern accent... And have the reading ability of a 6 year old.
