Gatekeeping

To limit how much control a certain party/person has in a collective identity or activity. Usually carried out with undue pettiness or resentment. Instead of using their knowledge about a particular subject to improve their lives or help others, gatekeepers attain a sense of accomplishment by arbitrarily judging what is and isn't "real".

*A normal social media comment section*

A: "Who watches anime in DUB?? It's so cringe and sounds completely forced. I would know! I am studying to be a translator. I have been consuming Japanese media for over 25 years! I can tell you that the speech sounds wrong and ruins the personality of the characters!! If you were a real anime fan you would just watch SUB!!"

B: "Niggas be hating on their own language and gatekeeping ANIME. Subs are hard to watch when eating. I can only watch while eating food because I'm not a bum ass nigga with nothing to do besides beat my meat while hugging a life-size waifu pillow and managing my kittens on discord."

Gatekeeper

A person who helps others pass through from life into death. They have a gentle soul and are special people. Usually they are unknowingly brought into a persons life before they are going to die to help the person's soul transfer from the living into death and the afterlife, whatever that may entail.

Person A: The reason you keep having people around you die is because you are The Gatekeeper, here to ease their soul during death for their transition into the afterlife to be easier.
