The Tech Effect

At New Mexico Tech, the combined forces of The Mermaid Effect and The Cheerleader Effect. This affects all genders and sexual orientations.

The longer one stays at New Mexico Tech, the more attractive everyone becomes. Including: friends, lab partners, classmates, roommates, RAs, TAs, professors, other faculty members, employees of local restaurants, employees of local stores, employees of local fast food restaurants, local high school students, and even that one bitch.

Pop-tech

Pop-culture technology - wearables, drones, robots, social media, apps, mobile phones etc. As opposed to traditional technology - servers, end-user computing, networking devices etc.

Person #1: "Have you heard the latest? Facebook paid 800 squillion dollars to buy a virtual reality headset business and a messaging app."

Person #2: "All that pop-tech nonsense gives me the shits. Have you seen the latest Hitachi storage attached network?"

The President announced a "Tech Surge" to fix the Health Care Website after the primary contractor was unable to complete the website for $196 million.

Tech Tic Syndrome

The obsessive need to stare at smart phones, televisions, and computers, to feel 'plugged in' to reality. When in all actuality you're literally tuning out reality. Risking your life driving or walking across the street, while you stare at your smart phone. So recurrent and constant that it is indeed a technology 'Tic' or 'Syndrome'.

Wow that guy's Tech Tic Syndrome got him run over. He was too busy staring at his phone while crossing the street and now he's dead. That girl was so distracted with her Tech Tic Syndrome that she wrecked her car and now she's dead.
