Indiehead

adj.

Derived from the adj./band "radiohead." When one attempts to be/is a pretentious, all knowing, music lover; those who will describe a band by saying they sound like a band that you've never heard of. Known to have an extensive collection of vinyl albums. If you try to match wits with this person, there is no way that they will take you seriously. These people can be usually be found in independent record stores. Their music taste is extremely exclusive, but within that genre, spans it's history. The word usually is intended to have a negative connotation, although in rare cases, can be used as a compliment.

That kid thinks he's such an indiehead, but he's so much like everyone else, he doesn't realize it.

I swear, the guy's the real life High Fidelity, a complete indiehead.

Someone who has a complex about how inferior the people around them are,
but is also good to know, not controlling and so on.

1. "This film is indie cool"
"It is good and everyone is getting it? Maybe"

2. "That woman is indie cool!"
"Impossible!"

A status of any sort directed at someone without mentioning names so that everyone else can see it. This often leads to rebuffed attempts of sympathy from anyone not involved.

Indie kid

An indie kid is a particular person (mostly male) who like nothing more than to drink milk and to kick cats for the fun of it in their free time normally they are commonly found in Sixth form photography classes doing anything they can to stop you getting on with your work (lol). They have also recently taken a shine to prancing around their local town doing the same dance as seen in the new 'Creep' video featuring Nicki Minaj.

Sam - "Woah, look at that kid over there!"
Jake - "Holy shit he must be called Ben Sanderson or something, what an indie kid!" ;)

Indie

Indie (independent) rock. While once more of a meaningful genre with independent bands on independent record labels, it is now emo's up and coming brother, loved by both annoying scenesters and mainstream fans alike. Being on a mainstream label kind of defeats the purpose of being called "indie."

Indie kid: Hey, let's go listen to Interpol or the Blood Brothers.
Emo kid: Sure, they're pretty cool. Maybe we could listen to some Bright Eyes afterwards, and cry or something.
Indie kid: I can't believe how cool we are.
