Tighty Whities

A mocking term for men’s white briefs, used because men’s briefs fit tightly around the crotch and are often white in color. The term first gained popularity among adolescent males in the 1990s, when boxer shorts began to usurp briefs as the most popular style of underwear among young men. In the years since, as white briefs have become less and less stylish due to the rise in popularity of hybrid styles such as boxer briefs and trunks, the derogatory term has become a generally accepted one to describe men’s white briefs.

I can’t believe I forgot to do my laundry last night. Now, I’m out of clean boxers and I have no choice but to wear an old pair of tighty whities that I haven’t worn in years. I sure hope that my pants don’t fall down today, since I know that my friends will make fun of me if they find out what kind of underwear I’m wearing.

Refers to threads on a screw, nut, bolt, etc. To tighten, you turn to the right (clockwise). To loosen, you turn toward the left (counter clockwise). A few exceptions exist, notably old propane cylinders and some pipe fittings.

A deadly gang from the streets of Potomac. The gang was founded in 2008 and has since doubled. The notorious street gang is known for all of its members being tight and white.
