Soap opera pause

The ridiculous pause for dramatic affect after some ground breaking event happens during a soap opera. Most of the time it turns out to be nothing special, just a way to cut to the next storyline. This becomes increasingly annoying when people in the real world are using it. Like when they tell a story, especially when they are a bad storyteller.

" Oh boy. Mary has trapped another victim. She's telling that stupid story where the guy runs into her and she drops her milkshake. "

" I know! I've must have heard it 10 times already this week!"

"Yeah, but the worst part is the soap opera pause she always throws in when she reaches the part about the lid falling off right before her slipping. Like we are supposed to gasp in amazement. As if anything else could have happened and we should be surprised it went down that way. ARGH!"

"Why's that guy stood there like a statue with his front door still open?"
"Dude, he's probably having his front door pause."

Pause Artist

The art of pausing shows or movies in an appealing way to your fellow viewers (can also be performed as a solo act, but it is more fulfilling when shared with others.) The paused screen is typically an especially absurd face or gesture, but is not limited to other pleasing images such as excessive cleavage or crotch shots. Some people are natural pause artists, but if you practice you can often hone your skill.

(Beth pauses Wendy Williams mid 'how you doin' to get something to drink.)

Jordan: That's a hilarious face.

Beth: I didn't do it on purpose, I'm just a natural pause artist.

Something that is said louder than the rest of the words in the sentence and is used to fill up awkward silence or is spoken when a person can't think of anything else to say.

Peter walked into the room and shouted padushkee after his dad admitted to killing his mother.

Pandora Pause

Pandora.com stops the party every once in a while when you don't give it attention while listening.

Pandora wanted me to rate songs but I was too busy dancing so when the Pandora Pause came on I spilled my milkshake all over Sandy.

I was getting busy with Cindy and all of the sudden the Pandora Pause came out of nowhere and wrecked my mojo.
