Also simply called the "Transition", this is the time period between the 80s and 90s, from 1989 to 1991, possibly very early 1992. This corresponds with the administration of George Bush. The Cold War was over, but the 90s had not started yet since Bill Clinton was not yet in office. Cartoons of the time period were Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (along with their live-action movies) at the height of their popularity, the Nicktoons like Dough, Ren and Stimpy, and Rugrats, Captain Planet, and the latest Super Mario brothers cartoons to name a few. USA's cartoon express was still stubbornly hanging on though. This was also when music made a change from the 80s "hair bands" to the Seattle Sound and the grunge scene. Hip hop and rap were becoming more mainstream. The fashion was somewhat of a hybrid with 80s and 90s, neon colors remaining popular. This is also the same time that The Simpsonsfull length episodes premiered on the young FOX Network.
The Transition Era was awkward for all involved due to the drastic changes that occured. This has not occured before and so far not since.

Get the Transition Era mug.A Catholic that does not live by the changes that were made in the the Church as a result of Vatican II. Most of the time they attend a Latin mass, the women wear dresses, don't eat meat on Friday, don't send their kids to public school, have loads of kids, say the rosary every day, say grace before and after meals and don't listen to modern music or use bad language. They come in varying degrees of weirdness. Some are just normal, well-behaved and modestly-dressed Catholics. Others, usually the ones that live in the middle of nowhere stick out. I could go on and on describing their various peculiarities but I think I covered all of the basics.
Girl: Who are those freakin' weird people over there in the long ass skirts? That's disgusting that they have more than 3 kids! They must be crazy! They need to get liberated! I'm sure they're judging us right now!

I’d call Anthony a traditional taster because he scours the markets to find ingredients to recreate the tastes of dishes he enjoyed on his trip to Vietnam.

Get the Domestic Transition mug.-Non-traditional Slytherins- The ones that just take Salazar's traditions and traits that we are associated with our house and throw it out the window and make way for some new Slytherin that they made up...the ones that think these traits and traditions are bad and wants us to follow the "good" traits that they deem appropriate for us.
- Non-traditional Slytherins are those who were hoping to be in another house, disappointed to be sorted into Slytherin because they either a) buy into all that stereotype about how we're only all evil or b) have thought of themselves as another house for years. But they're stuck here even though they want to be elsewhere, so they decide to be the "good" Slyths, the ones who display all these "brave, smart" etc qualities of other houses, proving to themselves that they are different from other snakes and are better, maybe alleviating their own bad feeling about ending up here. They think they're showing that they're a Slyth without really being a Slyth, as if that's a good thing.
