pentamnemonic

A mnemonic based on every 5th item to be remembered, using one's fingers as a kind of abacus. You put up one finger for each one as you go along. When you reach the fifth finger, that becomes the first letter of the mnemonic. This device works well when the number of entities to be recalled is too large for conventional mnemonics to easily accommodate.

Example: Nlnci Sjgai is one possible pentamnemonic for all the countries with some coastline on the continent of Eurasia. If you start with the western-most point-Portugal-and go clockwise around the coast, your first 'bookmark country' is Netherlands, and you end with Italy. (Just add on Monaco, the 51st country) Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, NETHERLANDS: Germany, Denmark, Poland, Estonia, LITHUANIA. When your little finger gets extended, you must always arrive on a country that begins with one of the consecutive letters in Nlnci Sjgai, or you forgot a country.

Pentecost

A historical day in the Roman Church Calendar and also for the World. The "Day of Pentecost", referenced in the Holy Bible in the book of Acts, Chapter 2, verses 1-4, is to all true Christians, the exact moment when man and the Holy Spirit of God became intertwined. Pentecost Sunday is celebrated every year by "Spirit-filled" believers throughout the world and has become a huge part of the "Charismatic" Christian belief-system, as well as a specific day of celebration in the Catholic community.

1And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

The apostles were speaking in tongues on Pentecost!

Pentacle

A five pointed inner-connecting star inside of a circle. It is by almost every Religion to resemble something different. Here are some of the basic ones.

Wicca-Wiccans use the Pentacle to represent the 5 Wiccan Elements, Wind, Water, Earth, Fire, and Spirit.

Christianity-Christians wear the Pentacle as a representation of the 5 wounds of Jesus. The 5 wounds were inflicted to Jesus during his Crussifiction. Pentacles in Christian beleifs are used to make Demons run away, or protect the wearer from Satan.

Peganism-Pegans use the Pentacle depending on which Pegan God(s) they worship.

Guy 1:Hey dude, why are you wearing a Pentagram?
Guy2: I'm not, this is a Pentacle, the exact opposite.
