Democracy-Dictatorship Compromise

The creation of the electoral college in the US constitution or the doctrine in the US constitution that created the electoral college.

Origin: The electoral college was created as a compromise between people who wanted a popular vote (democracy) and people who wanted only "qualified citizens" to vote (pseudo-democratic dictatorship). This is an example of bothsidesism.

Trump only won in 2016 because of the democracy-dictatorship compromise.

I was thinking of buying that big flat screen set, but had a severe case of compramegaphobia.

My compramegaphobia prevents me from buying a condo, but doesn't hold me back from renting my nice two bedroom apartment.
