mighty oak

The alter-ego of a tall-slim male with good looks and a predominantly reserved personality. The Might Oak is an altered state of the original individual and is characterized by an increase in swagger, game, confidence, and general appeal to members of the opposite sex and his home boys. Behavior of a might oak is generally observed as abnormal chillness, limited tolerance for being punked on, high levels of toughness and energy, and general disregard concerning what peers think. Similar to a turtle coming out of its shell.
Original: Eric Foreman (That's '70s show), Mighty Oak: Slim Shady

You think me an old fogeyand an old tory, his thoughtful voice said. I saw three generations since O’Connel’s time. I remember the famine. Do you know that the orange lodges agitated for repeal of the union twenty years before O’Connel did or before the prelates of your communion denounced him as a demagogue? You fenians forget some things. (James Joyce, Ulysses. Penguin Books,1992. p. 38)
