A giant, flying, fire-breathing turtle from Atlantis. Gamera is called "the friend to children", because he's always saving children (duh!). Gamera has a bad habit of bleeding all over the place. Gamera is a giant turtle monster created in 1965 by Daiei Films, rivals with the creators of Godzilla, Toho. Gamera, currently, has three eras. In the Showa Era, gamera is first seen in the b&w film Gamera The Giant Monster, or Gammera The Invincible. Gamera had twelve consecutive films, eight of which were Showa. The Showa Era consists of, Gamera The Giant Monster, Gamera vs Barugon, Gamera vs Gaos, Gamera vs Guiron, Gamera vs Jiger, Gamera vs Viras, Gamera vs Zigra and Gamera Super Monster.
