"Hanging Chad" became popularized from the 2000 presidential race between George W. Bush and Al Gore.

A "chad" is the fragments of paper left over when you punch a hole in a card. Voters in Florida at the time used Votomatic style punched card ballots. So a "hanging chad" is when you punch a hole in the card, and it doesn't punch the whole way leaving a little piece dangling. A "pregnant chad" is when you attempt to punch a hole, but it just leaves a bulge and doesn't actually punch through.

The controversy came about when "hanging chads" and "pregnant chads" weren't counted by the machine. People's votes weren't counted.

Imagine if you take those tests where you have to fill out the circle completely with a number 2 pencil. But you didn't totally fill the circle out and your answer was marked wrong.

I tried to vote for my favorite guy, but it wasn't counted because I didn't punch the card the whole way through. I left a hanging chad.

Hindinglish 

Much like 'Spanglish' is an amalgam combining the Spanish and English languages, Hindinglish combines Hindi and English. Hindinglish is used in many Bollywood films and contemporary television shows, such as 'Monsoon Wedding' and 'Breathe: Into the Shadows' (respectively). The nature of transition between Hindi and English in Hindinglish phrases/sentences varies, but is typically more Hindi-heavy (otherwise we would have to call it Englindi, and that just doesn't sound as good).

Dave: "Dammit! They're speaking Hindinglish again! I can only understand half of what they're saying!"

Die-Harding

Driving close up behind an emergency vehicle to get through traffic. A technique used in Die Hard 3: With a Vengeance. Extra points if you called in the emergency yourself.

Traffic was a nightmare last night so I called an ambulance and was Die-Harding for 15 blocks. Saved me 45 minutes.

Usually observed in any soccer match where no offside rule is in force, goal hanging is the act of standing as close to the goal line as possible in order to bash in any cheap rebounds.

Players who spend their time goal hanging can be referred to as cheesy dompers

Player A: "Aww fucking hell, Nigel's scored another one"

Player B: "He's fucking goal hanging, that's why"
