Arthur Wellesley

Arthur Wellesly, the 1st Duke of Wellington. He was one of the most badass British heroes to ever live, and a commander in the British army. Although there were many Dukes of Wellington throughout history, Wellesly will always be known as THE Duke of Wellington, as he was the man who was able to finally beat Napoleon once and for all during the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, and save Europe from from his iron grasp.

The Duke also went on to serve as the Prime Minister of Great Britain for two years.
Arthur Wellesley annihilated Napoleon at Waterloo! The Duke is to Napoleon, what Batman is to the Joker, and what Sherlock Holmes is to Professor Moriarity.

Wellesley chop

The short haircut that many girls decide to get when they first come to Wellesley College, a private womens' liberal arts school. Some associate this trend with the school's high queer population (many students come out upon arriving at Wellesley), the fact that long hair is difficult to take care of, no longer having to impress men in an all-female environment, or because the other women played with their hair too much.
Dude, did you see Ana? She totally went for the Wellesley chop!

Wellesley College

A chick school outside of Boston. Its most famous alum is Hilary Rodham Clinton, need I say more? Wellesley chicks are in a class of their own, just ask the boys from Harvard and MIT
Wait, she has a kick ass career and married the cutest boy from Harvard?
Oh she went to Wellesley...

Wellesley

An extremely rich town outside of Boston. Almost no black people live there. Everyone in Wellesley is a prep. Outfits usually consist of Eliza B's, Lacoste shirts, and Juicy Couture for teenage girls. Most older women wear Lily Pulitzer. The hott guys wear Abercrombie&Fitch. The houses are huge, and if they're less than 2 million dollars, they probably only have 7 floors instead of 8.
"You're so rich and preppy, I bet you're from Wellesley..."

Wellesley

These definitions of Wellesley are way off. Yes, it's an affluent community. Portions of it are extremely, extremely affluent. Most of the community is made up of couples in their thirties who have chosen Wellesley as the place to raise their children and live (excellent schools, quiet neighborhoods). However, neighboring Natick has portions that are just as affluent (Doug Flutie lives there, and he is not "poor"). Minorities are welcome. I just met a Thai-born couple from Wellesley. The atmosphere is a bit snooty, but you might call it "Newton Light". It has a large, older portion of the population which are blue collar Italian workers (stop by the local deli Nino's AKA "The Linden Store" at 7 AM on a weekday). Fine location for commuting. Overall, just another quiet suburb that's generally a bit better off. The landscape and town center (especially the eerie-looking Victorian Town Hall) are absolutely beautiful, but there's not much to do in Wellesley -- most locals head to either Natick, Framingham, or Boston for entertainment
Location, location, location. Wellesley is the only truly quiet suburb that is very close to Boston. The Cliff Estates are truly mind-boggling in their affluence, but 90% of Wellesleyites don't *live* in the Cliff Estates.

Wellesley College

Women\'s college for smarties. No, they are not all \"dykes\" or \"total sluts.\" Located around 45 minutes outside of Boston
The Wellesley College campus was used in the movie \"Mona Lisa Smile\" starring Julia Roberts.

wellesley

A town west of boston. Yes, we're rich, but no one is in-your-face about it. Well, yes, some people are, but they don't have friends if money is all they can talk about. It's just a rich suburb of Boston, a rich city. And if you want snobs, go next door to Weston.

There might be the highest % of eating disorders in the country there, though. Apearance is very important, so many girls show up in $500 outfits every day at school.

Overall, though, a lot of people live there for the schools, and we DO have affordable housing. Everyone is really nice and unpredjudiced, just priveledged.
(little girl, maybe 8, goes by in sevens and on a cell phone, holding hands whith an ordinary looking girl)

"Wow, you guys nust be from wellesley."
