The art of avoiding eye contact or using something to block your vision to prevent seeing someone or something that will cause you to become trapped for a long time preventing you from continuing with your task or limitations.

I saw an old high school classmate and I had to bird box them so I wasn't trapped into a "How have you been?" convo.

I saw a sale at the store, but I only have enough to pay my bills this check. So I totally bird boxed past it or I'd be broke.
