Starcraft 

The national sport of South Korea.
A sci-fi RTS based around a 3-way war between the Terrans, the Protoss, and the Zerg. Developed by Blizzard Entertainment, it was released in 1998 and experienced phenomenal critical and commercial success.
Despite being 11 years old it is still extremely popular and widely hailed as the best RTS - if not the best game - ever made.
Soon to be surpassed by the upcoming Starcraft 2

One of the very rare exceptions to the rule 'everything that's popular is uncomplicated childish shit.'

Where Age of Empires even accomplishes to make an almost fully symetric RTS game unbalanced StarCraft is stil renowned for it's balance eventhough the playable races are highly asymetric. In starcraft it is possible to completely destroy your enemy with half the amound of manpower he has if you are more skilled in the game. StarCraft truly is one of the best if not the best RTS game ever made by my knowledge.

Highly addictive.
But everyone gets pwned by Koreans who play ProLeague StarCraft and get paid $200,000 a year to play.
They are too cool!!!!!! XD

One of the greatest RTS (real time strategy) games of all time. It was produced by Blizzard Entertainment in 1998, and has remained popular with over 30 million copies sold.

In the game 3 races, Zerg, Protoss, and Terran (human) face off in an intergalactic free for all. The game was hailed as on of the greatest with regards to balance between the warring factions. One of the greatest players of all time is Terran, whereas beginning players enjoy Protoss and Zerg. Moderate players can usually play as any of the races and it can be anyones game.

South Korea loves Starcraft. They have competitions, where as many as 14 kids from each of the 6 major teams compete in front of a stadium of people. The best player in the world can make upwards of 200,000 dollars. The training players are lucky to make 600/month.

On a personal note, one of the greatest games of all time. Starcraft 2 will be coming out soon, hopefully they managed to do everything Starcraft did, but even better.
