A racist term used only to refer to black people who are considered sellouts to their race,whatever that means, weather it is true or not by someone else usually. Usually used as a way to silence black people from expressing opinion that are not popular on the black community

Uncle Tom

Someone considered a member of the family who works. Originally considered an endearment and term of respect, it was twisted into a derogatory term in the American civil war in order to create mass unemployment, since the employed were put down and disparaged as "uncle Tom". It worked, as well as the endearment "mammy". Both terms originally used to denote caring and respect were, after the war, denigrating, as well as having a job. Mammies went from respected members of family to unemployed as did "uncle" Tom.

That uncle Tom works for that white man. He should quit and his pride in unemployment can feed his family.

As an African American; let me say that the real problem AA conservatives have is that they're full of shit when they defend the fucked up statements made by other conservatives.

Why join the folks who would just as quickly call you "N_______" and support them when they do? Why are you compelled to say "They are misunderstood" or "They were taken out of context." when you KNOW they are speaking from the heart? Because you are an Uncle Tom!

When I was a kid, i used to think an "Uncle Tom" was a person who sounds black and doesn't act black( whatever the fuck "acting black" means) in public, but adulthood taught me the true nature of the Uncle Tom- he's the sell-out. The person who wants acceptance so much for himself, he's willing to say anything and do anything to get others to accept him- even say things about his own people to accomplish that task. Black conservatives don't talk about how Republicans are aiding minorities in the workplace, or how the GOP wants to help more blacks with civil issues. They just defend ideas from the Right as OK in their book.

"I don't mind if Sen. ______said blacks are uneducated because what he meant was...."- as if the person needs a minority's perspective to explain in plain English the politician's intent. The GOP needs that token black as Gunga Din, carrying the water so their white asses don't get wet. "Let the black guy say the things we don't want put into our record, because HE doesn't care what they think about him- HE wants to be like us! Who cares if his fellow blacks turn on him, we don't have to care! He isn't white after all!" Carson may be an intelligent man to become a pediatrician, but he's a dumb jigga' for playing Uncle Tom for Fox.
