Cop
Cop or copper is a derogatory word used to describe a police officer. There is a difference between a cop and police officer. A cop will drive thru a neighborhood and see a group of people doing nothing and roust them for no reason, a police officer will drive thru the same neighborhood see the same people doing nothing, instead of messing with them, the police officer will ask, hey how's the neighborhood tonight. It had nothing to do with the officer not wanting to do their job, it's called community relations or community policing. It builds a report with the neighborhood.

Some one who is acting overly suspicious, bossy, enforcing rules, acting like a goody two shoes, lame or asking an annoying amount of questions. This term is often used in the skateboarding and punk community.

cop-a-like
When you see a car that resembles a police cruiser. Might be a Crown Vic, Mercury Grand Marquis, or something newer. It forces you to slow down and drive more carefully than you care to admit.
"Hey man, you're going too fast, there's a cop up ahead. Slow it down."
"Nah, that's just a grandma driving her Grand Marquis cop-a-like boat."
