A story, scandal or occurrence that gives the English right-wing newspaper 'The Daily Mail' cause to print a report about the breakdown of society that has been caused by the event in question.
Mailbait: New statistics about immigration of Eastern European workers into the U.K. will likely lead to a headline in the Mail reading: "We're going to hell in a wheelbarrow and it's immigrants that are pushing it."
