An abbreviation of dancefloor, origininates from teen lingo in Australia. Very popular among elder teenagers and young adults especially those that frequent pubs and clubs. A much more contemporary version of the 'd-floor' - which is a word that should never be said out loud unless you wanted to permenantly socially isolate yourself. 'The DF' is socially acceptable and is not considered to be lame.

"We're going to hit up the DF"
"Umm just quietly the DF is going off"
