High Occupancy Toll Express Lanes
HOV Lanes are tolled where vehicles that meet the occupancy requirements for a particular stretch of road can use the roadway free while vehicles less than the minimum occupancy requirement can use the same stretch of the roadway by paying a toll that varies depending on the level of traffic on the lanes.
HOV Lanes are tolled where vehicles that meet the occupancy requirements for a particular stretch of road can use the roadway free while vehicles less than the minimum occupancy requirement can use the same stretch of the roadway by paying a toll that varies depending on the level of traffic on the lanes.
A lot of HOT Lanes require an HOV-based toll transponder and at least 2 or 3 people in the vehicle with the HOV transponder in the 'HOV ON' setting to use the lanes for free depending on the stretch of roadway and the minimum occupancy requirements indicated by the traffic signs. Vehicles that do not meet the occupancy requirement for a free trip on the HOT Lanes will pay a variably-priced toll with the HOV transponder in the 'HOV OFF' setting to indicate the vehicle has less than the minimum amount of people needed in the car to pay the toll.

Today's Democratic Party is more radical than it's ever been. Not all Democrats are classified as radical left Democrats.

A casual carpool system most commonly found in the Northern Virginia/Stafford/Fredericksburg area that allows the driver access to the HOV-3+ lanes on I-95 and I-395 legally saves the driver and passengers time and money. The HOV lanes there are tolled express lanes, which mandate all HOV-3+ vehicles to have an E-ZPass Flex transponder set to the "HOV ON" position in their automobiles.
The HOT lane rules on I-95 and I-395 in Virginia are 24/7. Drivers who do not want to sit in heavy traffic on I-95 and I-395 in Northern Virginia and who do not want to pay expensive tolls on the HOT lanes will need to consider slugging to meet the HOV-3+ requirements for toll-free travel on the express lanes on I-95 and I-395.
