Bucky Barnes

James Buchanan "Buck/Bucky" Barnes is a stereotypical "Badass with a horrible past" who is only popular because he's handsome and everyone swoons over him as a result. And because he's a badass. And because Marvel. And...yeah. You get the point.

If Bucky Barnes were real, the entire Marvel community would collectively faint upon realizing it. He's arguably the most popular Marvel character, although there's a ton of Loki fans who provide a bit of competition for that title.

Mala

An underrated Youtube ASMRtist who tends to take things in a more scary direction, playing the role of an extremely sadistic Yandere in her videos. But considering how...sultry her voice sounds, it's almost like she was made for this kind of thing. The videos where the roles are reversed are even more popular, as her voice seems to fit even better when she is the submissive one.

Warning: Her videos generally lean somewhat close into 18+ territory, but none of them are age-restricted. They can be downright scary and sometimes a bit lewd, but the "lewdness" part is very light and not nearly as bad as some more blatant ones.

Mala ASMR is definitely a channel for the masochistic side of Youtube.

Catapult Nightmare

A rare phenomenon where a person uncontrollably bolts upright in bed and screams at the top of their lungs during the climax of a horrible nightmare. The nightmare in question almost, if not always involves the dreamer in a scary situation where they are about to be killed while also being completely helpless to stop it. But just when the unfortunate dreamer is killed/is about to be killed, the phenomenon occurs. Bonus points if it's a lucid dream.

In one episode of The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon experiences a catapult nightmare when he has a vivid dream where Santa Claus appears in his living room and is about to kill him with a giant cannon as revenge for a ridiculous comment he made in a roleplay earlier that day that involved giving Santa a very hard kick in his "Bowl full of jelly" and feeding him to ogres.

As soon as Santa lights the fuse on the cannon, Sheldon wakes up and immediately positions himself upright while screaming for Leonard, and the episode ends.

Harry Belafonte Syndrome

When a famous person who generally stays out of politics suddenly becomes extremely political for seemingly no reason.

Harry Belafonte Syndrome was named for the actor and musician of the same name (Duh). He was very popular and famous until the mid-late 2000s, when he suddenly revealed that he is a registered democrat. Suddenly, he became an extreme liberal activist. He even said in 2012 that anyone who opposes the re-election of Barack Obama should be sent to prison. This statement landed him in very hot water, and he was harshly censured before effectively falling off the face of the earth. However, he is still alive, and his liberal activism is still dominant over his musical talent.
