jive

Share definition
1) Jazz slang from the 1930s and 40s. The language of swing.
Cab Calloway produced some "hepster dictionaries" in the form of free booklets given away with his recordings of the time.

2)A partner dance from the 1950s based upon a 6-count pattern. A rather simplistic descendent of the more complex and exciting Lindy Hop. Danced to rockabilly, early rhythm 'n' blues, rock 'n' roll and sometimes swing, although Lindy is the preferred dance.
1) first chap~ Get off the fence Hortense! Dig those real gone gates! They totally send me!
second chap~ Sir, are you talking jive to me?

2)I'm knackered, I was jiving all night at the club. The Lindy Hoppers weren't too impressed though as they didn't play much swing.

punkabilly

Share definition
A fusion of contemporary punk and rockabilly.
Often confused with psychobilly, a long dead (regardless of what some Tiger Army kiddies will tell you) British offshoot of rockabilly and trash.
Punkabilly is more of a good time, rockin' sound, sometimes with some elements of swing or jazz thrown in.
The Kings Of Nuthin' sure are one hard rockin' punkabilly band!

psychobilly

Share definition
A long dead British genre of music combining rockabilly and 80's garage trash with B-movie, horror and zombie theatrics. The Meteors claimed to be the only true psychobilly band despite their ditching of the revered double bass. Other example are the Guana Batz, Krewmen, Quakes, Demented Are Go, Skitzo and the Coffin Nails.
Klub Foot was the venue to go to.

A fan of such music characterized by the mutating of a traditional rockabilly pomp into a zombified quiff, shaved to the bone at the back and sides. Sometimes with a shaved section on top which left a horseshoe quiff.
~Only the Meteors are pure Psychobilly.
~Hmmm, bit of a childish attitude there.

fuzz

1)Antiquated slang for the police.

2)Pubic hair.

3)Distorted, guitar sound achieved by use of an effects pedal, originally a fuzzbox. The lead on 'I Can't Get No Satisfaction' was played through a fuzz pedal as was the guitar on much garage punk of the 60s.
1)I've been caught by the fuzz!

2)I've been caught by the fuzz!

3)~Man, I'm diggin' the Beach Boys right now!
~Don't listen to that shite, you need to worship the fuzz guitar of Davie Allan and the Arrows!

Run. To be "on the lam" is to be on the run. Either from the law or from the mob. A popular expression in 1930's-1950's pulp fiction and film noir.
Louie was ratted out by that fink Joey and is now on the lam from the law.

1.The glans of the penis. So called because of it's similarity in shape to that of a bell. See also helmet.

2.A foolish person. A plank.
I'd just had one off the wrist but I couldn't find the Kleenex so I had to wipe my bell-end on the curtains.
