2. any arsonist
(from a type of insect that has nothing to do with fire despite it's name)

That guy must be a firebug if he keeps starting fires like that.

1. A political official who has lost power due to term limit or losing the vote(Historically applied to a President of the United States who runs for re-election despite losing the vote)

2. an arrangement in a game where a player is likely to lose but is still in the game

If we let that lame duck back in I might scream.
