mud races

Derogatory racist term used by white supremacists to describe any group from Africa, the Middle East, or Asia, or of ancestry from any of those places, and sometimes even used to describe people of European ancestry who are considered to be white by normal people. Use of this term generally indicates severe mental illness in the person using it.
To groups like the KKK, Chinese, blacks, Moroccans and South Asians all fall under the inexplicable category of "mud races"

George Galloway

The Don Quixote of British politics. Far left wing MP (he was kicked out of Labour for his near-Trotskyist views and started his own party RESPECT), radio talk show host, and occasional reality show contestant. He's been attached to some rather shady dealings in the past and is openly pro-Arab and anti-Zionist. He's a bit of a whack job but charismatic and gutsy as all hell. In looks and charisma he's comparable to Sean Connery although Connery's political views are far different. While I wouldn't vote for him if I lived in his constituency he is a good example of a loveable, entertaining loony and I do have a certain respect for him.
As George Galloway always tells the many Jews who call up his radio show, he is not an antisemite even though he is certainly anti-Israel.

hipster

In the 1940s and 1950s it meant beatniks, bohemians, people into jazz and poetry, pushing the extremes when it came to sex and substance abuse, etc. etc.

Today it means what poseur meant in the 70s/80s - an insult for pseudo intellectual young people who claim to be into obscure pop culture of the past and are into co-opting cool stuff, and adopt white trash chic like trucker hats or Pabst Blue Ribbon, While being a 21st century hipster is preferable to being a gangsta, wigger, or yuppie, it's still nothing to be proud of today.
There is a book called "The Hipster Handbook" that made up fake "hipster" slang thinking that someone would fall for it

The only thing in common between the hipsters of the mid 20th century and those of today is that both are associated with New York City
Jack Kerouac was an example of a 1950s hipster.

Julian Casablancas is an example of a 21st century hipster

ohio

A state that is a microcosm of the Eastern U.S. Although usually considered to be part of the Midwest, the northeastern part of the state seems more like the Northeast and the southern part of the state might as well be the South. Known for cultural diversity and corrupt government (e.g. the 2004 elections). Ohio like its neighboring Great Lakes states suffered more than anywhere else in the US from the deindustrialization and bad economic policies of the Reagan years and the ensuing globalization ever since, and is still suffering greatly.
Considering how Republicans have continually fucked up Ohio, I don't know why anyone who lives in the state votes GOP.

Echo Park

1. One of the oldest neighborhoods in Los Angeles, in between downtown L.A. and Silver Lake. The original center of the film industry in L.A., before the industry moved to Hollywood after World War I and then to Culver City and the San Fernando Valley in the 1940s. Long occupied by Mexicans, other Latinos and a few Chinese, Echo Park in the last few years has drawn young white kids - especially hipsters and trustafarians - priced out of Silver Lake,Los Feliz. and Venice. It has replaced Silver Lake as being L.A.'s hipster center. Probably the most happening neighborhood in L.A. right now.

2. A park in the southern part of the neighborhood of the same name, known as a seriously dangerous place filled with gangs (particularly the Echo Parque gang, also known as ExP 13) and (more so in the past than today) drug dealers, particularly at night. It contains the only natural lake in L.A. According to legend, restaurant owners in Chinatown, not far away, have been known to capture dogs running loose to butcher, cook, and serve. The area of Echo Park (the neighborhood) which surrounds the park is the only part of the neighborhood that could be called nasty. Countless films have been shot there, most notably Mi Vida Loca.
1. There's an art opening going on at this little place on Echo Park Ave., then we'll go have some drinks at Barragan's, the Short Stop, or Taix, and then there's a cool band playing at the Echo, just across Sunset Boulevard from Taix....

2. You're going to walk through the park at night? Are you nuts?
