theatre major

Contrary to popular belief, Theatre is a very serious major. BFA students in performance and production work all day, all night, and all weekend to perfect their artforms, and mount shows. It takes balls to be a theare major - particularly an acting major. The average salary of unionized actors is $12 500 a year. You've really gotta love what you do to live in such squalor.
B.A. ENGLISH STUDENT: Hey, you wanna come get drunk tonight?

THEATRE MAJOR: It's Tuesday...

B.A. ENGLISH: Yeah man, I don't have class til 2:30 tomorrow.

THEATRE MAJOR: I have class at 7 am.

B.A. ENGLISH: Huh?!

THEATRE MAJOR: I'm an acting major.

rosencrantz and guildenstern

The (possibly?) gay couple that Hamlet is friends with in the play of the same name.

They are duped by Claudius into escorting Hamlet to England to be killed, but Hamlet escapes. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern then unwittingly meet the English King, and and hand him a letter instructing him to kill them both. They die. Nobody cares.

In the play, they always appear together, and seem to be entirely co-dependent. They have no real individual traits.

Despite the fact that they are fairly minor characters, they have a sort of cult status. Tom Stoppard wrote a famous play called "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead", which tells the story of Hamlet from their perspective.
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern in Hamlet...

GUILDENSTERN
Which dreams indeed are ambition, for the very substance of the ambition is merely the shadow of a dream.

HAMLET
A dream itself is like a shadow.

ROSENCRANTZ
Truly, and I hold ambition of so airy and light a quality that it is but a shadow's shadow.

stewie griffin

the breakout character on the tv show Family Guy. in the earlier seasons, stewie was a one-dimensional evil genius stereotype. when the writers got bored with that, they fleshed out his character, and stewie is now known for his flamboyance, arcane pop culture references, and sexual ambiguity. many refernces have been made - both by other characters and by stewie himself - to the effect that he may be homosexual. it is also implied on several occasions that he is attracted to Brian Griffin, the family dog. he has additionally had numerous homoerotic fantasies about his stuffed bear, Rupert.

stewie has been described as (to some degree) a caricature of Sir Rex Harrison. his affected english accent and effeminite vibe also draw comparisons to actor David Hyde Pierce.
